Paper chain pots are compostable. Most growers remove the chain pots when the turnover a bed, composting the pots with any remaining vegetable matter.
Levity Farms –
These 6″ spacing chains are great. We plant all of our lettuces with them and have experimented with baby kohlrabi as well. We have also planted head lettuce with these at 12″ spacing. The trick is to plant as follows [ -..–..–..- ] where the dots are the planted cells and the dashes are unplanted cells. There should be 3 rows of two planted cells up the tray, skipping the first and last rows, with two empty cells between each.

these paper chains are a true game changer for our small farm. I plant most of everything by hand on our farm and that can be brutal. I have now increased what I normally would plant by a massive amount. this is a huge deal
