More planted beds, fewer hours on your knees
Transplanting and direct seeding by hand eat up time a small farm doesn’t have. The Paperpot Transplanter, a system originally developed in Japan, plants a full bed from a tray of connected paper chain pots while you walk. Jang seeders do the same job for direct-seeded crops, putting down evenly spaced seed in multiple rows at once.
Both tools only pay off when you know the details: which chain spacing to use, how long to grow seedlings in the nursery, which roller and gear ratio fit each seed. Paperpot Co. puts those details in one place so new and experienced growers can get good results from the first season.
Written with working farmers
The Paperpot Growers Notes and Jang Seeder Growers Notes were developed with market farmers Erich Schultz (Steadfast Farm) and Seth Davis, based on what has worked in their fields. Each crop guide lists chain or roller, row count, nursery timing, days to maturity and target yield per 100-foot bed, and shows when it was last updated.
